Explore Cloud Repository
With the Smart Trading Cloud Repository, you can store any type of file. You can upload binary files, images, text files, maps, guidelines, configuration files, PDFs, and so on.
To upload files or folders to the repository:
- In the Smart Trading Cloud Repository, in the My Files directory, on the toolbar, click
.
- Click Select Files, select the file or folder you want to upload, and then click Open. To select more files or folders, repeat this step.

Move a file or folder from your local drive using the drag-and-drop function.
- Enter a comment in the Comment field if you want to add a description to the changes you made to the files you are going to upload.
You can then see the comments in the History dialog. For more information, see File Versioning.
- Click Upload to save files or folders to the repository, or click Cancel to exit the dialog.
The files or folders you upload to the Smart Trading Cloud Repository are listed in the My Files directory.
Note If you upload a folder that contains children folders, and want to preserve the folder structure, use the drag-and-drop function.
To download files from the repository:
- In the Smart Trading Cloud Repository, hover over the file or folder you want to download, and then click
.

Right-click the file or folder you want to download.
- On the context menu, click Download or Download as ZIP.
- Navigate to the location where you want to download your file or folder, and then click Save.
In the Smart Trading Cloud Repository, you can move files and folders from one location to another. The following rules are applicable:
To move a file or folder to another location:
- In the Smart Trading Cloud Repository, hover over the file or folder you want to move, click
, and then click Move to.

If you use the List View mode, right-click the file or folder you want to move, and then click Move to.
- In the Move To dialog, navigate to the location where you want to move your file or folder.
- Click Confirm.
For some file types, the repository offers online viewers. For example, you can view a guideline in your browser without having to install third-party software.
To view the uploaded guideline (.ecs):
- In the Smart Trading Cloud Repository, double-click the guideline file you want to open.

Hover over the guideline file, click
, and then click Open.
On the review page, in the left pane, the guideline tree is displayed.
Note You can view the uploaded guideline only if your current subscription plan allows you. To enable guideline editing for your organization account, ask your account administrator to contact support at support.edifecs.com or use the request subscription option available for administrators when opening a guideline.
By using
or the context menu, you can perform the following operations:
Open

Allows you to open a selected folder or a .ecs file. |
Share
|
Allows you to share a file or a folder stored in the repository with other users. |
Copy Run-Time Link
|
Allows you to copy a link that you can use in your run-time environment. You can use this link when you work with files that have been shared with you. For example, the link is available from the Workspace directory in your run-time environment.

Copy Web Link
|
Allows you to copy a web link that you can use to distribute a direct file link among users you share this file with, or you can save a link as a bookmark for quick access. Note that for other users to see your files by a web link, you must first send them the share link that you can get by using the Share option. |
Properties
|
Allows you to view the information on files or folders, as well as add and delete custom properties. |
View Details
|
Allows you to view the information on a file or a folder and add descriptions to them. |
History
|
Displays information about the versions applied to the file, the date and time when the file was modified, and the user who modified the file. |
Download
|
Allows you to download a file from the repository. |
Download as ZIP
|
Allows you to download a folder or a file in a .zip archive from the repository. You can apply this task to multiple files and folders. |
Copy To
|
Allows you to copy a file or a folder to another location. You can apply this task to multiple files and folders. |
Move To
|
Allows you to move a file or a folder to another location. You can apply this task to multiple files and folders. |
Lock/Unlock |
Allows you to lock/unlock files for other users. |
Rename
|
Allows you to rename a file or a folder. |
Delete
|
Allows you to delete a file or a folder from the repository. You can apply this task to multiple files and folders. |
By default, your files and folders are displayed in a Tiles View mode. To switch to the List View mode, on the toolbar, click
. To return to the Tiles View mode, click
. The selected view mode is applied to all files and folders in your repository and remains unchanged when you log out.
The Smart Trading Cloud Repository contains the following directories:
- My Files - a general directory that contains files and folders you store in the cloud. Only you have access to the files in this directory, unless you share a file or a folder with other users.
- Shared Files - a directory that contains files which are currently being shared with you. Shared files are listed in the corresponding folders named after the users who provided the access. It also has the Shared by Me folder that contains files and folders you share with other users. For more information, see Share Files and Folders.
- Workspace - a common directory that stores joint projects and artifacts users within the same organization are working on. For more information, see Work with the Workspace Directory.
- Library - a directory that contains various useful resources shared with you by Edifecs. If nothing is shared, the Library directory does not appear on the user interface. For more information, see Edifecs Library.
- Guidelines - a directory that contains guideline templates for several standards including X12, HIPAA, HL7 version 2, and others. All these standards (sometimes called specifications or protocols) are designed for a particular domain, such as healthcare, financial, and many others.
- Jobs List - a list where you can view the import/export progress of one or of all the available packages as a .zip archive.
Note To find the needed file, folder, or information within all repository directories, you can enter a keyword into the search field on the toolbar. The search results include the keyword both in file and folder names and file contents.
