Lock Files

When you work on a file that other users have access to, you may want to prevent other users from making changes to the file for some time until your work on it is complete.

With the Smart Trading Cloud Repository, you can lock one or more files and unlock them when required.

To lock a file:

In the Smart Trading Cloud Repository, hover over the file you want to lock, click , and then click Lock.

Right-click the file you want to lock, and then click Lock.

The locked file is marked with , which is visible for all users who have access to the file.

To unlock a file:

In the Smart Trading Cloud Repository, hover over the file you want to unlock, click , and then click Unlock.

Right-click the file you want to unlock, and then click Unlock.

Note If a user locks a file and forgets to unlock it, other users can unlock it, if required. In this case, the Info dialog with the information on the date, time, and person who locked the file appears. The user who locked the file can later override the changes made by other users.
