Get Started

Below are the steps that help you start using the Member Account service.

1. Create plan account

Before you start working with the Member Account service, you must create an organization account with the Smart Trading Cloud and enable subscription to the Member Account service for your account.

Watch the video tutorial available that shows you how to get started with Smart Trading Cloud.

Additionally, you can also set up branding specifications to provide a unified appearance for your Smart Trading Cloud services that aligns with your organization's brand identity. For more information, see Configure Branding Specifications.

After you receive subscription confirmation, you will be contacted by an implementation manager of Edifecs to find out your customization requirements and to prepare the Member Account service specifically for your plan. After that, the Edifecs team will provide you with the Member Account service URL (for example, https://members.edifecsfedcloud.com/#/Great.Healthplan.Inc). Use this URL to access your Member Account service and sign in as administrator using your Smart Trading Cloud credentials.

2. Add a welcome text with your plan information for members

When members sign in to the Member Account service, they can view useful details on your plan including contact information that you can provide here.

3. Add members

To allow your members to create their member accounts, you must import your members' data to the Member Account service:

  1. In Member Account service, on the top of the page Member Account, click Import Member Roster.
  2. In the pane Import Member Roster, click Get a CSV file header to download the sample .csv file with a pattern to compose a file with your members' data based on the roster schema configuration for your plan account, for example:
  3. Copy
    ID,IsActive,FirstName,LastName,MemberID,IsAuthRep
    12,True,Court,Mathis,LA06120,23439853,False
  4. Create a .zip archive of your .csv file.
  5. Drop the archive to the Import Member Roster pane and click Run.
  6. Go to the pane Jobs by clicking on the left navigation bar, and find the corresponding import job to view the job status.
  7. After the file passes the validation (the job's status is Success), refresh the roster by clicking in the upper-right corner to view the newly created members. If one or more member records contain errors (the job status is Error), click Download report to view the errors that you must correct, and then repeat the import procedure.

You can also upload members' data by using cURL or by using script.

Once the import is successfully completed, the members whose information you imported can go to the Member Account service page of your organization (URL provided by Edifecs, for example, https://members.edifecsfedcloud.com/#/Great.Healthplan.Inc) and sign up as your plan member. For members who complete their account registration, you can view their email addresses and/or phone numbers they use to authenticate.

The video tutorial is available on how to import and edit the list of member records, walk through the steps that members are required to perform before they can securely authenticate through the service, and more.
