Create and Invite New Users

After you create an organization account, you can add users to your account by either creating user accounts with credentials for them or inviting users to create their accounts themselves.

To create a new user account:

  1. On the top of the User Management page ( on the left navigation bar), click Create User.
  2. In Create new Smart Trading user account, enter the first name, the last name, and the email address of the user.
  3. Note If you configured SAML or OIDC federation for a particular organization email domain, you cannot create new users with this email domain in the Smart Trading Cloud.

  4. Click Create.

The Smart Trading Cloud creates a user with the email address you provided. For activation, the user receives an email invitation to sign in to the Smart Trading Cloud using the automatically-generated password specified in the email. The user will need to then set their own password in the My Profile pane available from any of the Smart Trading Cloud services.

You can also let users create accounts themselves by sending out invitations. They can either join your organization account or create their own organization accounts in Smart Trading Cloud.

Note To join your organization account, the email address of the user you invite must have a domain name reserved for your organization account. Otherwise, the user will be prompted to create a new organization account.

To invite users:

  1. On the top of the User Management page ( on the left navigation bar), click Invite New Users.
  2. In Invite new users to create their Smart Trading accounts, select the user group to which the new user(s) must belong (for example, Administrators), enter the email address(es) of the user(s) you want to invite, and then click Invite.

The Smart Trading Cloud does not create a new user but sends an invitation to the specified email address. The person you invite can sign up to the Smart Trading Cloud and create a new account.

To see the list of invited users or to delete invitations, go to the User Registrations page.

Guest Users

You can add Smart Trading Cloud users that belong to different organization accounts to your organization account and allow such users to access a specific service(s) to which your organization account is subscribed. To do this, follow the steps below:

  1. On the User Management page ( on the left navigation bar), in User Groups, click Create Group ().
  2. Enter the user group name, for example, Guest Users, and then click Create.
  3. In this group details, in the right pane, under the group name, next to Group Roles, click Add Roles By Service ().
  4. In the Add Service Role dialog, in Select Application, retrieve the service to which you want to give users access. Repeat this step if you want to grant access to one more service.
  5. In Select Role, based on the access permission you want to grant, select the role (Viewer, Regular User, or Administrator) you want to assign to this user group, and then click Add. The users are allowed to perform only those actions that are specified in role permissions.
  6. In the Users section, click Add.
  7. In the Add Users dialog, select the Smart Trading Cloud user(s) with a different domain name(s) you want to add to this group and click Add.

The guest users are added to the list of your users with the icon .

Your guest user actions

To switch to another account, the added guest user must do the following:

  1. Open the My Profile pane ( on the left navigation bar) or at the top right of the page.
  2. Click Switch next to Organization Account and select the organization account to be redirected to.

Note After the guest user is logged out from the Smart Trading Cloud, this user is automatically switched back to the organization account they belong to.
