XEngine Server Module for FHIR Overview

With Edifecs XEngine Server (XES) Module for FHIR, you can jump-start your FHIR development based on the Smart Trading platform without investing any significant time and resources. It provides you with out-of-the-box mapping scenarios to help mapping between clinical data standards and the FHIR standard that allows you to use your current data standards in the FHIR work flow.

The XES Module for FHIR solution includes the following:

• Edifecs XEServer profiles that implement FHIR processing in use cases:
• Care Coordination
• Eligibility Verification
• On-Demand Claim Processing
• The standalone HAPI FHIR server preloaded with sample data for use cases
• Maps for the translation of HL7 events: ADT-01, ADT-03, ORU-R22 to FHIR; CCD to FHIR, EDI 270 to FHIR, FHIR to EDI 271, FHIR to EDI 270, EDI 271 to FHIR, EDI 837 to FHIR
• A standard database with recent FHIR standard updates
• The XEServer components that allow you to:
  • Perform CRUD operations on FHIR resources
  • Search for FHIR resources
  • Perform any custom action on the FHIR server by submitting a raw HTTP request
• A sample XEServer profile that demonstrates simple FHIR functions
• A comprehensive web portal with a user-friendly interface and use cases/models for FHIR data management
• Dashboards with patient statistic information that provide a visual perspective over large volumes of FHIR data without any special ETL tools, expensive databases, and reporting infrastructure

XES Module for FHIR allows the receiving of HL7/CCD/Claims data and the loading of it into the FHIR server as FHIR resources and establishes eligibility request/response communication between FHIR-complaint and HIPAA-compliant parties (converts EDI 270, 271, and 837 transactions into the FHIR format). XES Module for FHIR also allows you to:

• Import FHIR data from EMR systems
• Export FHIR data into CCD
