Service-Specific Access Roles

To support more flexible and scalable permission control, three service-specific roles are now available for App Developer Portal for FHIR (FDP): Administrator, Regular User, and Super User. These roles reflect the access levels of FDP user groups and can be assigned to any user group within Smart Trading Cloud, including both default and custom groups.

Role assignment behavior varies based on subscription status. If the organization is already subscribed to FDP service, these roles may be assigned to the default FDP user groups, FDP Administrators, FDP Superusers, and FDP Users. If the organization is subscribing to the service for the first time, those FDP-specific groups do not appear by default. In such cases, the organization may use Smart Trading Cloud’s default groups, Administrators, Regular Users, or Applications, or create custom groups and assign the appropriate FDP role.

This enhancement simplifies access setup by allowing reuse of broader user groups across services. It reduces dependency on FDP-only configurations and ensures consistent role-based permissions.

A new read-only section Endpoints Error Responses has been added under the tab Getting Started to display the endpoint error responses.

Archive obsolete applications

You can archive applications you do not plan to use and unarchive them, when required. The application list view displays all the archived application when you select the check box Show Archived Applications.

Application unique identifier

A unique identifier assigned to each application that allows you to distinguish the applications that have been added.

Sort the applications

You can sort the applications that have been registered on the tab Applications of the Developer Portal by:

  • Application ID
  • Application Name
  • Organization Name
  • Organization Type
  • Environment
  • Registered On
  • Client ID and a Secret Key assignment

Allow vendors to specify scopes during application registration

Vendors can edit the scopes, preconfigured by administrators, during application registration.

Add separate disclaimer and a mailing list for each environment

You can create a separate disclaimer and a mailing list for each environment (sandbox, production and for when the environment is not specified).

Integration with Monitoring Service

You can log events for each action from the App Developer Portal for FHIR for auditing and tracking. All the events are available in Monitoring Services under your account. The following events are recorded:

  • Application Registered
  • Application Removed
  • ClientID/Secret Issued
  • ClientID/Secret Updated
  • Application Archived
  • Application Restored
  • Portal Published
  • Portal Configuration Edited

For example, when you register an application to the Developer Portal, the following information is available in Monitoring Services:

  • User Name
  • User ID/Email
  • Account Name
  • Account ID
  • Application ID
  • IP Address
  • Date and Time
  • Environment

Sign up as an organization

You can register your account as both an individual developer and an organization in the App Developer Portal for FHIR.

Register Application pane enhancement

The type for an organization has been added to the Register Application pane.

REST APIs

The Developer Portal has been extended to offer the administrators and super users an ability to manage registered applications and update the issued client ID and secret key of the registered applications through an API.

The Application section enhancements

These enhancements include:

  • The Developer Details section where all the users can view the information on the developers who registered the applications.
  • The Payer Environment field that the administrators and super users can turn on to allow the developers to request access for a production or sandbox environment while the developers register their applications.
  • The ability for the administrators and super users to edit and update the client ID and the secret key for a certain registered application.

The FHIR APIs section enhancement

The mandatory Endpoint URL field has been added to allow the developers to enter a link to a certain endpoint.

The App Developer Portal for FHIR enhancements

The Developer Portal has been extended to offer the developers an ability to create and register their accounts to sign in to the portal and further to register their applications.

The section FHIR APIs enhancements

The user interface for the published and unpublished APIs has become more user friendly and simple. The parameters have been updated to represent the information in an intuitive user friendly way.

The section Getting Started

The sectionGetting Started has been added to the Developer Portal for you to familiarize yourself with the application and to view all the available information on how to set up a developer account and to register applications, how to connect applications to a payor FHIR server, and how to connect to a sandbox environment.

The Developer Portal offers a new section that helps developers add, register, and manage their applications.
