Create Custom Artifact Properties

When you work on your artifacts, you may need to provide some attributes to distinguish them from each other and to be able to work with them. For example, you can define an XEServer image as a certain type of artifact by providing certain details as metadata.

With the Smart Trading Cloud Repository, you can attach metadata to stored files and folders if you want to attribute properties to a file or a folder. In Smart Trading Cloud Repository, metadata are treated as properties that you can add and remove.

To add a custom property:

  1. In the Smart Trading Cloud Repository, hover over the required file or folder, and then click .
  2. On the context menu, click Properties.
  3. In the Properties dialog, in the Custom Properties section, click Add and enter the property name and value.

    4. Note The property name cannot exceed 100 characters and must not contain the following symbols: \ / * : ? " < > |

    To edit artifact properties more conveniently, you can use the Export option to download the properties file and edit the properties locally, and then use the Import option to apply the changes.
